Exhibiting Artists:
Art First
Art First is an art collective founded by B.J. Christenson, Michael Cooke and Naomi Rose. The artists have cerebral palsy and share a deep love of creating art. The artists work in a variety of mediums including mixed media, colored pencil and acrylics. Their artwork includes everything from landscapes to abstracts.
Laurel Besecker
Some people say Laurel was born with a paintbrush in her hand. Often she is inspired by the majestic mountain views that surround her home and garden. It's been said that her paintings make you want to be in that place, because they are so quiet and peaceful.
City of Redding Employees
DThese artists represent the full diversity of City operations. After running the day-to-day business of city government, they find the time to express themselves creatively. It is our pleasure to display their accomplishments and recognize their creativity.
Downstairs Painters
This watercolor painting group became inspired by some of the landmark buildings in Redding. Rather than paint the buildings as a whole, they decided to focus on architectural portals and windows. "Grand Openings" creates a closer, more intimate look for the viewer and is their way of sharing their passion for art.
Michael Haglan
Nothing is perfect - but unique in its own creation. Michael enjoys going out of the norm with his life and his art - deep in contrast and color. Trying not to leave out anything and adding something of his own style, Michael enjoys the variety afforded by his artwork.
Egon Harrasser
Egon was born in Munich, Germany and after experiencing World War II, he emigrated to Canada. For 12 years Egon worked for a Canadian aerial survey company on international projects. In 1965 after joining the rest of his family in California, Egon was impressed from the beginning with the natural beauty of Northern California and found it a wonderful place to pursue his lifetime love of photography.
