Action: Authorized staff to transfer approximately $3.2 million in long-term assets (receivables) from the General Fund to the Risk Management Fund to generate $3.2 million in new revenue to the General Fund in fiscal year ending 2010; reduce General Fund budget by approximately $2.7 million through various staff, program, and other reductions; utilize $607,900 from the General Fund reserve; authorized the City Manager to ask City employees to pay the “member contribution” to the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) for a minimum of two years; and directed staff to develop a contingency plan to reduce the General Fund budget by an additional $2.3 million in the event that the City and the unions are not able to agree on the CalPERS contribution concession. |
