ADMINISTRATIVE HEARINGS BOARD - 3 Members
  • Purpose: The Board was established to oversee administrative enforcement of provisions of the Redding Municipal Code.

  • Qualifications: Members shall be qualified by having professional experience in law, law enforcement, dispute resolution, administrative processes, engineering, general contracting, subcontracting or real estate, and must be a resident of the City of Redding, own a business or be employed within the city limits of Redding.

  • Term Limitation: Two consecutive full terms. Four-year terms.

  • Meetings: Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California.

BOARD OF APPEALS - 5 Members

  • Purpose: The Board was established to preside over and resolve disputes regarding building construction requirements as prescribed by the Uniform Building Code.
  • Qualifications: Members shall be qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction, and shall be residents of the City, employed within the City, or own a business located within the City.
  • Term Limitation: Two consecutive full terms. Four-year terms.
  • Meetings: Meets only on an as needed basis. City of Redding, 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE - 9 Members

  • Purpose: The Committee was established for the purpose of serving in an advisory capacity relative to the Community Development Block Grant Program.
  • Qualifications: The Committee consists of nine (9) persons who shall be either residents of the City, employed within the City limits, or own a business located within the City.
  • Term Limitation: Two consecutive full terms. Three-year terms.
  • Meetings: Meetings of the Committee shall be called as necessary. City of Redding, 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California.

COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION - 5 MEMBERS

  • Purpose: The Commission was established to make recommendation to the City Council and the Community Services Department regarding the establishment of policies which encourage and maintain a systemized program of leisure activities available to residents and visitors of the City, and to consider issues pertaining to parks, recreation, and tourism.
  • Qualifications: Members shall be residents of the City, employed within the City, or own a business located within the City.
  • Term Limitation: Two consecutive full terms. Four-year terms
  • Meetings: Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 3:00 p.m. at the Redding Civic Center, 777 Cypress Avenue, River Room, Redding, California.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF SHASTA COUNTY - 3 Members

  • Purpose: The Corporation was established to promote economic growth in the area.
  • Qualifications: Members shall be residents of the City, be employed within the City, or own a business located within the City.
  • Term Limitation: Two consecutive full terms. Four-year terms.
  • Meetings: Meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 12:00 p.m., at C.R. Gibbs Resaurant, Library Room, 2300 Hilltop Drive, Redding, California

PLANNING COMMISSION - 7 Members

  • Purpose: The Planning Commission deals with land use issues (zoning, General Plan amendments, etc.) which cannot be resolved at the administrative level or by the Board of Administrative Review.
  • Qualifications: Members shall be residents of the City, or be employed within the City, or own a business located within the City.
  • Term Limitation: Two consecutive full terms. Four-year terms
  • Meetings: Meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California.

SHASTA MOSQUITO ABATEMENT & VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT - 1 Representative

  • Purpose: The District was established to inform, educate and protect the public from diseases and plagues carried by mosquitos and other insects, and sets policy regarding public health and safety as prescribed by the Health and Safety Code.
  • Qualifications: Member shall be a resident of the City, or be employed within the City or own a business located within the City. Member shall be a voter in that city and a resident of that portion of the city that is within the district.
  • Term Limitation: Two consecutive full terms. Two or four-year terms, at the discretion of the appointing authority.
  • Meetings: Meets the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the District Office at 19200 Latona Rd., Anderson, California.

SHASTA PUBLIC LIBRARY CITIZEN’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE - 2 Representatives

  • Purpose: The Committee was established to advise the Redding Municipal Library Board of Trustees on matters related to operation of the Redding Municipal Library.

  • Qualifications: Members shall be residents of the City, or be employed within the City, or own a business located within the City.

  • Term Limitation: Two consecutive full terms. Four-year terms.

  • Meetings: Meets the first Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at the Library Conference Room, 1100 Parkview Avenue, Redding, California.
