2011 Community Creek Clean-up

The 6th Annual Creek Clean-up took place on Saturday, October 1, 2011.

Hundreds of volunteers removed over 5 tons of litter and acres of invasive vegetation along the Sacramento River at the Henderson Open Space. In addition to opening up the view of the River, dirt accessory paths to and along the Sacramento River were cleared to allow for better access for
users, including mountain bikers, hikers and walkers, and pet-owners wishing to utilize an offleash dog area.

Financial donors include: CA Coastal Commission and Redding Rotary
In-kind donors include: Redding Record Searchlight, Crystal Geyser Natural Spring Water, Kristin's Apples (Kristin and Ray Toney), Round Table Pizza, Foothill Distributing, Big Valley Sanitation, and Redding Solid Waste.
