Patrick grew up in Redding and attended local schools including Shasta College as well as Sacramento State University. He is a local businessman serving as manager of the family business, Jones' Fort, for more than twenty years.
Patrick is actively involved in the community having served on various committees and proudly points to the fact that before being elected to Council, he attended a majority of the Redding City Council meetings for over five years.
He is the past President of the Redding Gun Club, and a committee member for the California Deer Association, Mule Deer Federation, the National Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, and Gun Owners of California. He is also active in many local non profit organizations' fund-raising efforts for community projects.
Patrick demonstrated his determination and commitment to serve his community by running for the Redding City Council in 2002 and 2004 before winning election in 2006. In December 2009, Patrick was appointed to a one-year term as Mayor.
Liaison Assignments: In addition to his responsibilities as Mayor, Patrick also serves as the City Council liaison to the Electric Utility Department and the Transportation and Engineering Department, the Airport Land Use Committee, the McConnell Foundation, the Regional Transportation Planning Agency, the Shasta Community Action Board, the Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee, and the Veterans' Home.
