If you do not know your inspector or you cannot reach him, call the Building Inspection Supervisor, Erich Mayne, at 225-4414 or Cell phone 510-5884.

The inspectors work 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday, except furlough Fridays, and are generally in the field from  8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

You may call 1-866-458-7319, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to request an inspection. Have your permit in hand and follow the automated instructions. Call before midnight to schedule your inspection for the next day. Weekend inspections are available for an additional fee.

If you have a special time constraint for a particular inspection, first schedule your inspection on the inspection request line, then call your inspector between 7 and 8 a.m. on the day of the inspection. Inspectors will make every effort to accommodate individual needs for inspections.

The inspectors work hard to accommodate every request and they ask the following of you:

• Please be sure your job is ready for an inspection when you call, especially if you ask for a courtesy inspection.
• If you realize the job is not going to be ready for inspection, please call and cancel.

Most jurisdictions charge re-inspection fees if jobs are not ready when an inspector is called. The City does not want to do this. We believe by working together we can all benefit.
