(1) SITE DEVELOPMENT PERMIT APPLICATION SDP-2012-00051, by Riverfront Playhouse, requesting approval to establish a community theater at the southeast corner of Pine Street and Placer Street. The project entails demolition of the existing building on the site and construction of a new theater building of approximately 15,000 square feet, accommodating approximately 230 seats. The property is addressed as 1701 Pine Street and is within the "CBD-SP-BH" Central Business District with Specific Plan and Building Height Overlay Districts. Environmental Determination: Categorically Exempt. Staff Recommendation: Approval. L-010-390-700 APPROVED
5. COMMISSION CONSIDERATION
a. GENERAL PLAN/HOUSING ELEMENT ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT. State law requires that local agencies prepare and forward to the local legislative body and appropriate state agencies an annual report on the progress made toward implementing the broad policies of the General Plan and attaining the goals and objectives set forth in the Housing Element. The report is being provided to the Commission for information purposes prior to submittal to the City Council. Staff Recommendation: Accept report. G-030-070 ACCEPTED REPORT
b. Discussion of potential amendment of the Redding Riverfront Specific Plan pertaining to the area north of State Route 44 west of Sundial Bridge Drive, generally around the Civic Auditorium, in consultation with the Community Services Advisory Commission. Referred from the City Council. Staff Recommendation: Forward recommendation to the City Council. A-050 RECOMMENDED TO CITY COUNCIL NOT TO AMEND AT THIS TIME
