a. Consent Calendar - None.

b. Public Hearing

(1) USE PERMIT APPLICATION UP-11-08, by Simpson University, requesting approval to develop a sports complex, which includes a lighted baseball field with grandstand seating for 1,000 spectators, restrooms, and concession stand; bleacher seating for up to 2,000 additional spectators; a lighted softball field; a lighted soccer field; and outbuildings for a mechanical room, visitors' locker room, and showers. A request to allow four temporary modular classrooms/offices on the campus is also included. The sports complex site is generally located on property immediately north of the existing campus, immediately south of College View Drive, and west of, and including, the existing soccer field in a "PF" Public Facilities District. Environmental Determination: Mitigated Negative Declaration. Staff Recommendation: Adoption of the Mitigated Negative Declaration and approval. L-010-390 ADOPTED MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION AND APPROVED

c. Public Meeting

(1) FIELD TRIP - Site of the proposed Salt Creek Heights Subdivision Project (Project), Tentative Subdivision Map Application S-15-07 and Planned Development Plan Application PD-11-07. The Project consists of approximately 272.9 acres, with approximately 145.5 proposed for development of 440 residential units and supporting infrastructure in a mix of housing types, including single-family, multiple-family, garden-court homes, and custom home sites (248 single-family units, 96 garden-court single-family units, and 96 apartment units). In addition, the Project includes a 13.9-acre neighborhood park and 113 acres of open space. The Project site is generally located west of the north terminus of Buenaventura Boulevard and between State Route 299 (Eureka Way) and the Sacramento River (4402 and 4350 Eureka Way). The Commission will assemble to begin the field trip on an unimproved driveway on Eureka Way immediately east of the City Electric Substation at 4400 Eureka Way. S-101-135

5. ADJOURNMENT

 

NOTICE: Any documents produced by, or submitted to, the City and distributed to the Planning Commission regarding any item on this agenda will be available at the Permit Center Counter at City Hall, 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California, prior to 4 p.m., the day of the meeting.

APPEALS: Decisions by the Planning Commission may be appealed to the City Council by submitting a written appeal, together with the applicable fee, within ten calendar days to the Development Services Department at 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California. Appeals must be received by the Development Services Director within ten calendar days of the Commission's Action.
