FIRE INVESTIGATION

The Department has long taken an aggressive posture in the investigation of fires and prosecution of offenders. Our Fire Inspector/Investigators work cooperatively with Investigators from the Redding Police Department , CAL Fire, and U. S. Forest Service in this endeavor.  In 2009, the Bureau investigated 104 fires.   Eleven referrals were made to juvenile probation regarding playing with fire.
