Public Works-Traffic Signal Division maintains the traffic signals under the control of the City of Redding. Traffic signals on State facilities, such as SR 273, SR 299, and SR 44, are maintained by Caltrans.

Decisions related to traffic signal installation are made within the Public Works-Traffic Division.

In addition to traffic signal maintenance, the Public Works Electrical Technician staff of seven individuals maintain the electrical components of the Water Utility Treatment and well facilities, Wastewater Utility Treatment and lift station facilities, along with interaction with Airports, Parks, and Building Maintenance Divisions.
