City of Redding Volunteer Program
The City of Redding welcomes volunteers to help provide services and programs to its citizens. The City is committed to maintaining a close relationship between the community volunteers and the City government. The volunteer program provides a broad source of expertise, talent, and manpower for City programs as well as an avenue for citizens to participate in their local government. The citizens also benefit by gaining a greater understanding and appreciation for their local government while strengthening the community's bond.
Volunteer Service Goals and Mission Statement
Vision
The City of Redding Volunteer Service will aid City Departments in identifying and creating meaningful volunteer opportunities for citizens to enhance their understanding of the local government and to assist City Departments in their operations by assigning volunteers to assist City employees to broaden and improve the service the employees give to the citizens of Redding.
Mission
To identify and recruit citizens to fill clearly defined volunteer opportunities in the City of Redding and to give recognition to those volunteers who contribute their time to the City.
Goals
To enhance City programs and services by matching the varied talents of concerned individuals and groups of all ages, interest and skills with a wide variety of challenging municipal projects.
To provide the best and most effective service to the citizens of Redding by assigning volunteers to help City employees to enhance and expand their services
To develop a volunteer friendly mind-set among City employees, and volunteers.
To train volunteers to meet the expectations and requirements defined by the Departments participating in the Volunteer Service Program.
To build a closer tie between community members and the City Government of Redding.
To create a volunteer program that is broadly representative of all segments of the community.
