The Market Street Redevelopment Project began in 1968 as the Midtown Project, consisting of ten acres in the heart of downtown Redding, for the purpose of constructing the Downtown Mall. It was expanded in 1990 to encompass most of the Market Street corridor from the Sacramento River on the north to Clear Creek Road on the south. The project is comprised of approximately 2,600 acres.

The Canby-Hilltop-Cypress Redevelopment Project was established in 1981 and was expanded in 1990 to its present 2,050 acres, extending from the South Bonnyview Bridge on the south to the Sacramento River and beyond on the north.

SHASTEC REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT  Click Here for Map

The SHASTEC Redevelopment Project is a cooperative project by the Cities of Anderson and Redding and the County of Shasta. The project area contains approximately 4,100 acres extending from Abernathy Lane in the City of Redding on the north to the vicinity of Riverside Avenue and North Street in the City of Anderson on the south. One of the primary goals in forming the project area in July 1996 was to provide a unified effort to remove physical and economic barriers, thereby facilitating development around the Redding Municipal Airport that will benefit all three jurisdictions.

The Buckeye Redevelopment Project is a cooperative project created by the City of Redding and the County of Shasta in July 2000. The Project Area contains approximately 1,063 acres and is situated in the northwest portion of the City of Redding, where the City’s boundary is contiguous to the Shasta County line, with the northern portion of the Project Area lying within the unincorporated portions of Shasta County. One of the primary goals in forming the project area was to provide a unified effort to remove physical and economic barriers, thereby facilitating improvements and encouraging new development that will benefit both the City of Redding and the County of Shasta.
