The City of Redding Solid Waste Utility and the Redding Fire Department are once again teaming up to conduct the annual 'Coats for Kids' donation program. We are hoping to collect new and gently used coats, jackets, vests, sweatshirts, gloves, and mittens for children. New this year - we are also accepting warm winter blankets!
Kids come in all shapes and sizes! We are looking for donations ranging from infant to adult sizes. Used items should be recently cleaned and in good condition.
It's easy to donate! We offer two convenient options:
Curbside donation for Redding residents only: Simply place your donated items in a waterproof plastic bag, clearly labeled "Coats for Kids" and set it on top of your blue recycling cart on your regular collection day. Our drivers will collect the items from you.
Drop-off Donation: drop off your donation at any of the following locations:
City Hall (main lobby)
Any City of Redding Fire Station
City of Redding Transfer Station on Abernathy Lane
All donations will be given to the Good News Rescue Mission to be distributed to Shasta County families just in time for Christmas. Your donation can make a world of difference to a family and to a child - Share the Warmth!
